The three-story commercial structure at 1313 Randolph in Chicago is a mixed-use building comprised of office space and residential apartments.

When the owners needed to replace the building’s old aluminum windows, they sought to do so on a budget without hindering structural performance. However, the owners assumed that they would need to replace the old aluminum windows with new aluminum windows.

An Ideal Fit

Lindsay Windows introduced the owners to Deceuninck’s 143 Series, proving PVC could perform well in light commercial projects as an alternative to aluminum.

The owners replaced the old aluminum windows with 400 single hung windows from the 143 Series in a clay color.

Not only did the 143 Series windows provide the necessary DP 50 rating, but Lindsay Windows met the performance requirement and even better thermal performance all within budget.
