Summer picnics and barbeques are quickly giving way to the ringing of the school bell as students across the country head back into the classroom.
This fall, the students of Buffalo Academy of Science Charter School in Buffalo, NY, will be returning to a building with an entirely new look thanks to the installation of high-quality, energy-efficient windows designed by Deceuninck and manufactured by PVC Industries of Clifton Park, NY.
In July, Deceuninck fabricator PVC Industries began a month-long window replacement project at this former elementary school that was rehabilitated to serve as the home of the charter school owned by Apple Education Services.
The project called for the installation of 460 separate window units throughout the building.
PVC Industries chose Deceuninck’s Revolution™ Tilt-and-Turn for the project. The Revolution window created the optimal solution because of its overall appearance and its energy-saving and thermal ventilation capabilities, all of which exceeded that of other aluminum alternatives.
The bronze exterior color was selected with a white interior over the one color aluminum extrusion. This was a better blending of the building’s existing aesthetics.
In addition, the Revolution window was more cost-competitive than similar aluminum options.
