Making The Grade: Revolution XL® Window System Achieves Highest Performance Rating for Commercial Buildings

Deceuninck North America’s Revolution XL® window and door series excels in thermal capability, overall performance, and style. Today, the company announced new testing results that meet the highest industry standards for window performance in commercial buildings.

The Revolution XL Picture Window achieved the North American Fenestration Standard / Specification’s (NAFS) AW100 rating — the most stringent requirements established for the AW Performance Class commonly used in high-rise and mid-rise buildings. It meets the increased loading requirements and limits on deflection in buildings and where the frequent use of fenestration products is expected. The window passed all the required performance and durability tests for the architectural window class, including structural performance under wind loading and resistance to water penetration and air leakage. An independent certified lab conducts all tests. Revolution XL also scored for acoustic excellence in STC (Sound Transmission Class) testing. With only dual pane glass, the Picture Window achieved an STC rating of 43, and the Tilt & Turn window achieved an STC of 41. These ratings add to the line’s superior thermal capability, also demonstrated in its Passive House Certified window, the pinnacle of high-performance sustainability.

“As fenestration standards evolve, we are focused on meeting the rigorous performance demands for today’s modern buildings, The Revolution XL line delivers it all: AW rating, STC performance, and Passive House Certified windows (and lift and slide door by Westeck), making it ideal for commercial applications where optimum performance is paramount.”

Gregory Koch, vice president of sales and marketing for Deceuninck North America.

The Fenestration Glazing and Industry Alliance’s AAMA performance standards for fenestration products serve as a resource for architects, specifiers, contractors, and manufacturers seeking to pinpoint optimum, material-neutral performance levels to meet the needs of specific projects and localities.

Ideally suited for commercial applications, Revolution XL® delivers a suite of products
with flexible design, a range of colors and finishes, and superior thermal, acoustic and
structural performance. The Tilt & Turn window (shown) is a certified Passive House
component, representing the global pinnacle of high-performance sustainability.
