TECHNICAL BULLETIN: Cleaning Laminated Profiles

With increased popularity of laminated profiles, we are getting more requests for information regarding care and maintenance of laminated windows.

  1. Vinyl is easily cleaned with a soft cloth and water. If necessary, use a mild dish detergent.
  2. Laminated profiles can be cleaned using a damp cloth and standard house cleaning agency, excluding abrasive products.
  3. SOLVENTS SHOULD NOT BE USED TO CLEAN LAMINATED PROFILES. Laminate film is not resistant to high polar organic solvents (e.g. acetone, ethyl acetate, dimethlyformanide, dimethylacetamide, fuming suplhuric acid, amines, and basic liquids with ph>12.)

Please Note:
Manufacturers of cleaners do not always include a full description of the ingredients. A complete list of ingredients can be found on the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) of the cleaner, which may be obtained from the manufacturer. Please consult the MSDS before using a cleaner on laminate film or vinyl products.
